Dear Friends, It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Museum of the Red River, where we can share the knowledge and curatorial efforts of our good friend, Mehdy Douraghy. He has generously given his time and expertise to organize this wonderful exhibit. Working with a number of private collectors, Mehdy, supported by his wife Leora, has created a unique opportunity for visitors to enjoy an under-appreciated traditional art. The pictorial weavings of Persia are rarely seen on exhibit. Very few pictorial rugs are woven in comparison to the vast numbers of rugs with geometric or floral patterns, and bringing together this collection for exhibtion was a challenging…
