3750 NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2019
by the Communications Committee

Retiring…
Carlos Tamez, one or our wonderful doormen, will be retiring on April 24th, just short of his 10 year anniversary. Be sure to stop by and wish him well.
Also in April…
April 8th-14th Xfinity is hosting their annual “Watchathon” for their cable subscribers. We will have access to all their channels that week, including the premium channels we don’t subscribe to. Speaking of Xfinity, we’re still finalizing the new contract. Current rates will continue until the agreement is finalized and everyone is up and running, estimated in four to six months.
Shred Day
Saturday, June 1, from 10AM-12Noon. Shred Truck will be parked, as usual, outside the back entrance. A notice will be sent and posted as to what can go into the shredder and how it is to be wrapped; paper bags, plastic, etc.
Air Conditioner Inspection
All air conditioners (central and window) are to be inspected by June 30th. Shareholders will make their own arrangements for the inspection. The forms to be filled out will be distributed soon.
Laundry Room
We have an agreement with a new vendor for the laundry room. New equipment is estimated to be installed in six weeks. The current laundry cards won’t work with the new equipment. One new card will be distributed for each unit. You will be notified as we get closer to the date so you aren’t loading up the old cards. The laundry room will be closed for approximately five days during the changeover.
Front and Back Doors
City Life Safety Rules require that all apartment doors, front and back, be labeled with the floor number and unit letter. If either or both of your doors are not numbered and lettered please let Drago know and the building will provide numbers and letters for you. If you prefer to do your own please do so. Personal labeling will be at your own expense.
Fire Escapes
Reminder that they should only be used in the event of an emergency and not for any other reason, particularly smoking and storage.
Restaurant Recommendations
From David Narwich 4D
Upon our recent return to the Lakeview neighborhood in June 2018, our first impromptu dinner excursion was to a “walking-distance” restaurant – Angelina Ristorante – close to the intersection (3561) of Broadway and Addison. While most likely familiar to many, I do want to highlight it for newcomers. “Comfort” in terms of the food, atmosphere and facilities were abundant that evening and on each subsequent visit. It is a classic Northern Italian restaurant serving the community since 1988. Its self-professed goal is to provide a “hip with heart” experience. Daily specials and seasonal cuisine are a hallmark of the kitchen.
It’s open nightly from 5-10PM. Champagne Brunch is served Saturday 11AM-2:30PM and Sunday 10AM-2:30PM. Reservations at 773.935.5933. A bonus is the “across the board” discount to Lakeview residents on Wednesday evening (Neighborhood Night) and half price bottles of wine on Monday evenings. A small aside: The bartenders take pride in competing to make the best martinis in town!

ROCKS Lakeview at 3463 N. Broadway, corner of Stratford – across the street from what used to be Treasure Island. Open 11AM-2AM. Many options for burgers and no extra charge for sweet potato fires. Quite noisy at night in winter but as spring is coming, go for lunch or wait for outdoor seating with several tables for two on Broadway and larger tables around the corner on
Stratford. Wednesday nights are half price burgers and I LOVE burgers. 🙂
